Three causes are given in the introduction for the spread of tuberculosis noticed at the present time: the substitution of the city mill and workshop, the multiplication of institutions, and, most important of all, the increase of means of communication between villages and towns. The unreliability of Government statistics is gone into fully, diseases often being classified regionally instead of according to their pathological cause. The climatic conditions which affect the disease in India are fully discussed and its prevalence in the various principal towns is mentioned, and some very interesting conclusions are drawn from Assurance Company
